Hi Plant Parent,
We have some exciting news about Gaia to share with you!
- We're working on a project for the data science semester using the data that is collected from your sensors! This will result in the app providing more accurate and useful information. In order to do this, we need some additional information about your plant. Please complete this short 4-question survey.
- A new update has been released for the app that adds a battery indicator to the settings menu. It seems that the battery life of the sensor is about six weeks: Some sensors have stopped reporting by now. Android users need to reinstall the app from gaiaplant.app/download, Testflight users can update from Testflight.
- The IoT semester has started! James Schutte, Sander de Groot, Niels van Dam and Sander Baan are working on the hardware and firmware of the sensor.
- More about Testflight: Apple has approved us for public beta testing! This means that you can now easily install the app on iOS using our Testflight link.
- We are now using a mailing list to send out emails. This means that if you no longer wish to receive updates about Gaia, you can unsubscribe.
If you haven't installed your sensor yet, know that your data can be valuable for the Data Science project! If you can't find a use for the sensor yourself, you can probably find a friend who can use it. Or flash different firmware: there is ESP-home and Home Assistant firmware, see our support portal.
As always: If you have any feedback or questions, don't hesitate to contact us, for example by replying to this email.
Happy Plant Parenting!
